Easy to use and effective.  If you manage to copy photos from a computer to an iPad, e.g. to DCIM/100APPLE, they are still not shown.  Easy with this app:  Start the app, then, on the computer, in a browser, go to 192.168.2.90:8080, click on some button in the browser window, select the picture files to send, then, on the iPad, tap “Receive”, the pictures are transferred via WiFi, and will be shown in the camera roll in a an album called “Image Transfer”.

“I downloaded the free version of this and tested with one photo, copying it from my PC desktop to my phone. Worked great so I paid for the full version. I used it to successfully copy about 2800 pics and vids from an original folder buy appstore reviews on my PC (was a folder containing all the pics and vids from my previous phone, a Samsung GN2) to my phone’s Camera Roll (yes, pics taken from a Samsung phone imported to my iPhone). The one caveat was that I had to copy about 600 files at a time. I first tried to copy all of them in one batch, but the web page (the app turns your phone into a web server for the app) would clear out and refresh with no copying. I didn’t try any other batch sizes, so maybe it could handle more than 600, you can try and then update this number.
